Pet Interview: Pete from Author Jean Marie Bauhaus

Pete from author Jean Marie Bauhaus

Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! I’m Pete. I’m a Chihuahua. I’m about to turn 10. I love walks and sunbeams and stuffed animals and tormenting the cat and I really, really love my humans.

What is your favorite toy?
I love toys! I love stuffed animals best. My favorite is a Halloween Snoopy. He’s dressed like a pumpkin. I play with him all year.

What is your favorite food?
I love raw spinach. My humans say that’s kind of weird but I don’t care. It’s my favorite and I dance for it whenever I see it.

Who is your author?
My author is Jean Marie Bauhaus. She’s my mom. She’s nice and soft and she gives me spinach.

What does your author write?
Scary things, with ghosts and zombies and vampires, but there’s also sometimes kissing. I like kissing. Kissing is nice. Scary things aren’t nice. I will bite them.

She writes a series of books called Restless Spirits and it has good ghosts and bad ghosts. And lots of kissing. It’s nice.

Where does your author write their stories?
On the couch, or sometimes at the kitchen table. Usually someplace where I can curl up in her lap or beside her. I help by keeping her lap warm so she doesn’t have to be distracted by a cold lap.

What is the best thing about being an author pet?
My author sits a lot while she writes so there’s always a lap available. And when she gets stuck we go on walks. It’s fun!

What is the hardest thing about being an author pet?
Sometimes it’s hard to get her attention away from the computer things. She’s always tapping on it instead of petting me. So I have to stand on it to remind her that she should be petting me.

Where should readers go to read your author’s work?
They should go to her website at JeanMarieBauhaus.com or just look her up on their favorite online bookstore.

What does a typical day in your author pet life look like?
I get my mom up early to feed me. My health’s not so good, so she has to give me some medicine for my heart. Then I hang out at the kitchen table with my mom and dad while they drink coffee and have breakfast. After everybody’s had breakfast and gotten dressed we go for a walk, and then my mom sits down and gets on the computer and I get in her lap. Eventually we all eat again and I take another pill and then we go for another walk and then she gets on the computer some more. But sometimes I’m tired of being still so I go bother the cat. And then we all have supper and get into our PJs and I take a nap while Mom and Dad watch TV until it’s time to wake up and take more medicine and go to bed.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?
You’ll make my mom really happy if you say hi to her on Twitter @jmbauhaus! And you can see pictures of me on her Instagram! She’s @jmbauhaus there, too.
